When I was a kid I had a Evel Knievel doll with the bike. It was the coolest thing I owned. He embodied true grit and determination. In my head I am still that young with the same aspirations and dreams. Thanks for the memories and god speed. Your legend will live on.
Evel was an inspiration to me groing up, the first time I saw him jump at a country fair as a boy. I grew up on Carnivals. I never missed a TV event. Thank you for that. I think Evel inspired and brought out the dare-devil in all of us, and I weould like to wish all his family the best. I lost my parents a few years back, and I know it must be very hard
My whole family have always been Knievel fans and you have been a part of our lives. The first thing my son said when I told him was "Wow we were so lucky to have gotten to meet him in person!" You will be missed but we know you are now at peace and no more pain. This was a big jump but life isn't over - youve just moved on to bigger and better things. We love you.
Thank you evel for all the memories as a child growing up in the early and middle 70's, I was born 3 months before robbie knievel and i always thought how lucky he was to have a dad like you, I used to jump garbage cans just because I wanted to be like you as a child,I made a few and yes i missed a few, I continued to be a big fan all these years, hoping to some day meet you, I was celabrating my 25th wedding anniversary yesterday nov 30, when i got the news that you passed away, I cried because you had a big impact on my childhood and it saddened me that you were gone, To this day I ride a harley due to your impact on my life as a child and yes I even have an evel knievel leather jacket I just purchased 3 weeks ago,I Thank you for all the memories you gave me as a child and you will always live in my heart and all your fan's hearts, you will never be forgotten my freind! My sympathies to the Knievel family Know that the Evel legacy will live on forever through the millions of fans. I remember seeing a jump as a small boy and will forever remember that moment although he touched my life for a brief moment the memories of jumping my bicycle after that and pretending to be him and playing with the toys made my childhood brighter and certianly more fun. You will never be forgotten.
Thank you, Mr. Knievel, for taking the time to chat with me on the phone earlier this year. I will cherish your phone call forever. I know that you and my Granny, who died on Nov. 26 are up in Heaven rejoicing right now and I can't wait to see both of you again soon.
Thanks for being my friend! Your Friend In Christ, Heidi
Krystal, You are in my heart and in my prayers. May you be strengthened by the Power of God and filled with His Peace. You are loved!
Please accept our condolences concerning your father's death.
It is with great sadness that we the people of America have lost such a great legend and icon. He will sorely be missed. There will never be anyone that will be able to do what he has done al least not in our lifetime.
You were my hero! As a kid growing up I had two men I wanted to be like, you and Steve McQueen, now you're both gone, I hope the two of you are talking right now. I have many a scars trying to be like you, now each one means more than ever. You'll never be forgotten!!! I guess this is your highest jump ever. Good-bye. R.J. Jones Surrey, B.C. Canada
We'll miss you Evel. Thank you for all the great memories since childhood. I enjoyed getting to meet and speak with you. You were in pain but you stayed to sign all those autographs anyhow. You will never be forgotten by me and countless others. I wish your family the best and my prayers are with them. I am going to watch your jumps and movies and remember all those great times, yeah that includes watching VIVA KNIEVEL! You should have gotten an oscar for that! Your fan forever, Vince
You have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers you. You are ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Whoinfuses inner strength into you. You are self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency.

I just wanted to send a quick encouraging word your way. I am thinking about you and I hope that you have a wonderful day! Your Friend In Christ, Heidi
Thank you for providing such a great website for all of us to enjoy and to remember the good ol'days with. I've been a fan since the late 60's, early 70's. You have been a great inspiration to me. When I was about 5 years old, I had a mini-bike that was made from a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine and a bicycle frame. I jumped it once.. It didn't make it, and I bailed as soon as I could so I wouldn't get hurt. I attempted to jump a big hole filled with water, about 6 feet long, and 3ft deep. And of course I didn't know how to swim.. Boy what a daredevil I was. After that, I decided things like that should be left to Evel Knievel, and not a little kid. I had true respect for you at that point, because that jump scared the crap out of me. But later on, when I got older, and had a motorcycle, I tried it again, and made it this time. It was an awesome feeling, but I only did it that one time. Ahh the memories.. I'm riding to this day, as a result of the inspiration that you gave a 5 year old daredevil.
I was a young girl watching you do what you did best. My dad and I would watch every show that came on tv with you in it. I used to jump my bicycle over trash cans, and did dirt bike racing for a couple of years. I still have my evel knievel toy bike and rider I got as a kid for christmas one year. I wore that thing out jumping it over stuff. I just recently bought myself a street bike after 42 years, my husband thinks I'm crazy but its been a lifelong dream of mine to ride the open roads. Thanks for being an inspiration to so many lives all over the world.....Keep the shiny side up....God Bless
