I just wanted to let you know that you gave a little boy from Berkeley, Illinois the ability to be adventureous and want to jump over three garbage cans (while on fire) in front of his house in 1977. This became a reality when I successfully made the big jump and I have been a confident, adventurer since. I am 40 years old now with kids of my own and I would love to have an autograph photo of you hanging on my wall of fame! If you get this message please let me know.
I to want to thank you for all the memories. I did the same thing when I was a kid, jumping everything in site and doing wheelies, seeing how long I could skid my cheater slick tires (on my bicycle of course). Those were the days, my mom use to say "Who do you think you are Evel Knievel" I wish!! I met you a couple of years ago at the bike shop on 19, I was so excited to shake you hand and see all your stuff you brought with you. You brought and still bring alot of smiles to many people and you are an American Icon!!
Evel, thanks for the coolest memories and for your creativity. Watching you when I was a kid was so exciting. I would go out on my bicycle and try to be you! I am riding today because of you no doubt. Happy Holidays to you and your family. God Bless.
I never thought I would ever have a chance to leave a message to my chilhood hero ! Thanks to you and your willingness to have contact with your fans, its made it possible....
I'm 39 now, my greatest accomplishment is my Son, and I just want to say that in all my memories of my youth, no hockey player, wrestler, football player etc... was my Hero. You personafied Courage and the American Dream...It made me beleive and keep with me this untill today...."No matter how tough, or hard things get you have to stare down your fear and keep going". If EK can jump over cars at incredible heights and distance then I can get throught what Ineed to do....
